    Online Reputation Management with Verified Ratings and Reviews
     

    Situation

     

    Missouri Southern State University, with an enrollment of over 6,000 students, like most colleges and universities is competing in a complex recruitment landscape against larger state institutions and private colleges. Undergraduate students are applying to dozens of colleges and universities and comparing costs, scholarships, and academics at a whole new level.

     

    With over 80% of students looking at third-party college planning sites, which include anonymous reviews and online ratings for MSSU of around 3.5 stars, the university needed to improve their online reputation in search results. In comparison to recent alumni and student surveys, online ratings did not accurately reflect the experience of current and past students.

     

    Opportunity

    1. Improve the online reputation for MSSU in search results by collecting and publishing reviews for the university.
    2. Improve the online reputation for each of MSSU's academic programs by collecting and publishing reviews for colleges within the university, and for high growth undergraduate, graduate and continuing education programs.
